Cordelia, a.k.a. Corky was built-in on January 23, 1937, in Fort Bragg, California. And passed away at the immature age of 85, peacefully, on February ii, 2022. The Chocolate-brown family angel received her wings. Corky is survived past her blood brother Alvin and his married woman Pat Hautala, cousins Shirley, Teresa, and Mervin and their families; her sons Michael, Jeff, Kevin, and Scott, her granddaughters Christina and Tiffany, and her grandsons Nicholas and Danny.  Corky was the oldest of herself and surviving brother Alvin. Born to Matteus and Ina Hautala, she spent her youth in and around the Mendocino coast in Northern California enjoying what the ocean had to offering. Later graduating high schoolhouse, she attended Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma Washington, where she met and married Terry Brown (in 1956), and started a family unit. Corky was a loving female parent and a devoted wife who supported her husband while he pursued his education and career goals. She was the rock of the family and a true matriarch. To keep up with her 4 lively sons, Corky exercised daily by walking, riding her bike, and fifty-fifty sometimes standing in front of the Television exercising with Jack Lalane. She loved cross land skiing, canoeing, gardening, angling, golfing, crocheting, Gonzaga Basketball, and in her spare fourth dimension, she would ever accept a book in her mitt to read.Corky enjoyed sewing and was a seamstress by hobby. Making clothes for herself, and having iv active boys, she would repair shirts and pants for them too. She enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, Gonzaga Basketball, and sharing the fruits of her labor of love, with others. She was well known for making her cinnamon rolls and spaghetti to transport the boys off hunting. At 35, Corky went back to college to pursue her own career goal, receiving a degree in nursing. She taught the boys to exist self-sufficient enough to take care of themselves while she did and so. This allowed her to continue nursing until the historic period of 65. At 65, she decided to retire and take upward golf. Which she did, very well, and enjoyed every minute while making lifelong friends. Corky enjoyed traveling with her married man too. They traveled to Hawaii, Commonwealth of australia, Mainland china, Japan, United mexican states, the Caribbean, and Alaska to go fishing. They bought Fourth dimension Shares in both Hawaii and Mexico so they could retire in style! During retirement, they would travel to Mexico for 2 to three weeks in May,  then to Hawaii around Christmas time to spend fourth dimension in the sunday. All the while, withal trying to find the Gonzaga Boys Basketball games, because she was an avid fan! Corky would stay in Mexico for an extra week to take special time with her granddaughters and daughter-in-law. As part of her travels, Corky spent the ameliorate office of 30 years going upward to Alaska to go line-fishing with her sons. They made her a special pole with an extended handle so she didn't have to work so hard at landing "The Large Ones". Her infamous argument "I got another one" could exist heard beyond the river many of days, as she is catching fish earlier anyone tin can even bait their lines. What a fisher she was!! Not certain Corky would entertain the thought of 'moving' equally traveling, yet, her estimation of moving 23 dissimilar times would certainly fall under the category of traveling. Each time she and Terry moved, she would pack up the house, their boys, herself, and Terry while he connected to work. In doing so, every time they moved, she ever managed to bless that firm with the love in her heart, and make it a "Home". After that many moves, she had made quite a few lifelong friends, and as a consequence, every year she was filling out 125 Christmas cards to friends all around the globe. With the experience of packing, moving, traveling, cooking….etc… Corky narrowed this packing thing downwardly to a science. When the family unit decided to go on a camping trip, Corky could pack upwardly her husband, four boys, the canis familiaris, brand food for the weekend, load upwardly the cab-over camper, and be prepare to go in two hours, flat! Some of her son'south favorite memories entail those camping ground trips, simply the ultimate highlight to camping was always waking up in the morning to Corky's famous cinnamon rolls. Was it mentioned that Corky was an avid Gonzaga Boys Basketball Fan?!!! She watched almost every game. During those games, she was the loudest in the room. Her favorite thespian, Drew Timme, #2 was her weekly highlight! Cheers Gonzaga Boys Basketball and Coach Few for bringing, and keeping the excitement through your seasons for both Corky and Terry Brownish. All in all, Corky, as was mentioned, was a true matriarch. She was a loving, kind-hearted, requite it to you straight kind of gal. She was a mentor to many, a mother to anyone who let her, and was "that person" that everyone turned to when they needed to talk to someone. Her wisdom and unconditional love earned everyone's trust every bit she had a knack for making you feel as if y'all are the about of import person in the world, to her. She was a instructor past middle. She taught anyone she could, how to exist apprehensive and kind, what the value of telling the truth meant, even though it may take been hard; and certainly, the importance of humor during adversity. She taught that if something happens, it happened, at that place is nothing else that tin be washed simply move on and upward from it. Her infamous saying "It is, what it is…." Will always ring true in everyone'southward hearts. A heartfelt give thanks y'all from the Brown Family to Nurse Debbie, Social Worker Jess, The Bakery, and The Fisher, all from Horizon Hospice.
